Kevin Batts editing manager at FortySixNews caught up with Dr. Keyes at the OK2A rally last Friday. The two spoke about abortion and the need for Christians and other Republicans to push back on the immoral practice.
Dr. Alan Keyes, who served under President Ronald Reagan in the U.S. State Department and later in other national and international roles, made an appearance this week at the Oklahoma Capitol. He joined supporters of a new law that allows permitless carry of firearms. The law took effect on Nov. 1. Keyes said while he wanted to show support for the Second Amendment, as he believes it is a key to the nation’s future, his stop at the rally was ancillary to his main reason for visiting the state.
“I’m here in Oklahoma to participate in something called the Repent With Us conference. It’s basically about repenting for the sin of abortion. My speech to the crowd will be about recognizing that, in fact, Roe v. Wade included a sunset clause that specified the terms on which the decision would collapse, and those terms have been satisfied. Therefore Roe has no authority anymore. And it is incumbent upon the executives – the governors, the president – to see this truth and start enforcing the Constitution, which requires that we first of all not deprive any person of life, liberty or property without due process and that we do not withhold from any person the equal protection of the laws. Both those things are being done to our offspring in these abortion murder mills, and the murders must stop.”
When asked what he thought about various states across the country enacting laws that effectively ban abortions, Keyes replied “it is a sign the country has reached a time when something has to be done. If nothing is done, the murders will extend to other segments of society.”

“First they extend the government’s right to decide who to murder,” he said.
He pointed to New York and other states that already allow fully born children to be murdered if their mothers wanted abortions.
“So abortion now is killing persons outside the womb,” he said. “They’re also pushing euthanasia. They’re pushing assisted suicide and other things like this, all in contravention of the plain language of the Constitution and the plain requirements of the Declaration of Independence that we respect life, which is an endowment of God, not human will. … Once we establish that you are a human person, no one has the right to murder you for any reason whatsoever. And the only reason they can is if, by due process of the law, you are determined to have committed a capital crime. Then, you can be. But what capital crime could possibly be charged against an innocent, nescient child in the womb? None. “
Keyes formerly served as an officer of the U.S. State Department Foreign Service, as ambassador to the UN Economic and Social Council and as assistant secretary of state for international organization affairs. He ran against Barak Obama for the U.S. Senate and has run several times for president. He is an author and currently hosts “Let’s Talk America” on his website IAMtv.us.
