OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – Oklahoma County Republican Party Chairman Daren Ward announced his candidacy Tuesday for the GOP nomination in House District 84.
Ward is seeking the seat being vacated by state Rep. Sally Kern due to term limits.
“Our state needs more commonsense business leaders who know what it is like to make payroll, work within a budget, and to actually create jobs,” Ward said. “Citizen Legislators are critical to the success of our state and I look forward to bringing my experience to the State House.”
Ward, a General Contractor and former CFO for a large corporation, believes that conservative principles led to success. He serves as Chairman of the Oklahoma County Republican Party, on the forefront of promoting conservative principles and defending liberty.
“We hear a lot about conservative values, but we need to ensure that those we choose to represent us actually live Oklahoma values, day in and day out,” Ward said. “Those values come from my Christian faith. I will strive to be the voice of fiscal responsibility and be a strong defender of our God given rights set forth in the Constitution.”
Ward ran unsuccessfully for Oklahoma County Commissioner in 2014.
Elections for Oklahoma House District 58 will be held along with other major elections in June of 2016. You can find more information about the candidates on FortySix News 2016 Elections page.
