TULSA, OK – The board members of the pro-education group, Restore Oklahoma Public Education (ROPE) has endorsed David McLain in the Special Election for State Senate District 34.
ROPE lead the charge and lobbied at the Capitol against the Common Core Standards and supported the repeal of Common Core (HB 3399) in Oklahoma.
“David McLain epitomizes the term, “pillar of the community”. Not only is David actively involved in his church, he also works inside his community to help set young people on course for life success, all while running his own construction business,” stated ROPE President, Jenni White in their endorsement release, “Electing David McLain to the Oklahoma Senate will insure those in his district – and across the state – will not only have a voice in our state government, but a strong voice informed by Constitutional knowledge, and the principals of faith, family, service and entrepreneurship.”
McLain responded, “ROPE has worked hard to teach parents how to stand up for their children and has educated many on being engaged in the legislative process. I am honored to receive their support and am humbled to know they have put their faith in me to be a legislator that will stand up for the children of Oklahoma. Education must be a top priority and if elected, I will work to champion issues such as school choice, classroom funding, local control of education, and parental rights.”
The special election for Senate District 34 will be held on Tuesday, November 10, 2015. You can find more information about the candidates on FortySix News 2015 Elections page.
