GROVE, OK – Josh Russell, a United States Marine Corps Veteran, Children’s Pastor, and businessman has announced his candidacy for the Oklahoma House of Representatives to serve District 5, the seat Dr. Doug Cox will be leaving in 2016 due to term limits.
Russell, born and raised in Northeastern Oklahoma, is a graduate of Grove High School and Northeastern Oklahoma A & M College. He and his wife, Rebekah have been married for twelve years and have two children, Kaylee – age 10, and Caleb – age 8. Josh’s campaign kickoff on July 12th had a standing room only crowd. The Russell family is actively involved within their church (Grove Christian Center) and the community.
“As a former United State Marine, I learned the value of hard work and tenacity. I will work tirelessly to represent the people of House District 5. People throughout the district are concerned about the direction of our state and our nation. I will work to strengthen conservative values within our communities. I have the leadership skills to engage my peers in creating and supporting conservative legislative actions that will help bring common sense to the Oklahoma State Capitol. I have a passion for Oklahoma, the future of our children and grandchildren, and I believe that we must stand strong against the encroaching federal government into our state,” Russell said.
Josh is a partner in the family printing business that was launched more than 40 years ago. Josh believes that the free enterprise system is the best type of economy and must be protected. Josh is a Constitutional Conservative Republican that believes in protecting faith, family, & freedom. He will promote legislation that will ensure opportunities for future generations, protect and defend both the Oklahoma Constitution and the US Constitution and will take a stand for what is right – that is, keeping the voice of House District 5 as the voice he represents and not be drowned out by special interest groups. Josh is 100% pro-traditional marriage, 100% pro-life, and 100% pro-2nd Amendment and he is a proud member of the National Rifle Association.
