ADA, OK – Having formally announced his campaign for State Senate in June, longtime Ada resident and Republican Jet McCoy has raised in excess of $53,000 in the second quarter reporting period.
McCoy is running for the Senate District 13 seat to be vacated by term-limited Democrat state Sen. Susan Paddack in 2016. District 13 encompasses parts of Garvin, Hughes, Pontotoc, Pottawatomie and Seminole counties.
“I had so much encouragement to enter this race, and I am humbled by the outpouring of support we have received,” McCoy said.“As a small businessman, entrepreneur and father, I want to give back and help the community that made me who I am today.”
McCoy is probably best known for traveling the world with his brother Cord in competition on the CBS-TV reality show “The Amazing Race,” but he says there is no place he would rather live, work and raise a family besides Ada, OK.
“This district is my home, my family. It would be an honor to represent them at the state capitol,” said McCoy.
Elections for Oklahoma Senate District 13 will be held along with other major elections in June of 2016. You can find more information about the candidates on FortySix News 2016 Elections page.
