WOODWARD, OK – On Monday a Republican state Senator from Woodward plead no contest to a misdemeanor charge of being in control of a motor vehicle while under the infulence.
State Sen. Bryce Marlatt, Woodward-27 (R), was sentenced to a one-year deferred sentence, placed on probation and paid more than $1,500 in fines, costs and fees.
A no contest plea has the same effect as a guilty plea but is not an admission of guilt.
Marlatt was charged in December after a sheriff’s deputy reported finding him asleep in his running pickup truck on a county road. Craig Box, Marlatt’s attorney said previously that Marlatt took a perscription sleep aid and had an alcoholic drink.Follow @FortySixNews
